Princess was 4 years old when she moved from her home in Nigeria to Houston, TX. Although her family fit happily into the large Nigerian community in Houston, they were undocumented for nearly 16 years and were afraid to even visit the doctor. Princess feels her “mom was a total rock star”, having trained hard to become a nurse to help the family gain permanent residency. By the time Princess went to college, the issue of undocumented minors had become a crisis in the US and inspired her to pursue a career in immigration policy. Princess went to Georgetown University from her magnet high school, and majored in Political Economy with an emphasis on Africa.
