Ad Hoc is a civic tech company that helps the federal government better serve people through the best use of technology. Sophia’s passion, since she was a young girl, was to help others: while attending her all-girls school in Pennsylvania she started a partnership with a girls’ school in Pakistan, her parents’ home country, to promote education for women. In college, Sophia studied Public Health and Political Science. After graduation, she applied her passion to a health tech company that simplifies the US health insurance experience for people. Sophia will explain the ways that technology is transforming old industries and creating new fields like fintech, healthtech and civic tech. She will also share what a product manager does, and how her minimal math and science skills didn’t stop her from pursuing her passion of serving people through technology.
