Catalina Restrepo ICGS Marketing Twitter

When Catalina struggled to pay back her college loan, she made the difficult decision to leave her job in immigration advocacy. As an immigrant herself from Colombia, her dream was a career in improving US immigration policy, and when this dream didn’t work out, she knknew there was only one other place she wanted to be – Twitter. She wanted a job at a company that had a meaningful impact on the world. So Catalina left Washington DC and moved to San Francisco. Catalina was so determined to work at Twitter that she applied seven times to seven different roles. Finally she landed a job in marketing, helping businesses use the Twitter platform to promote their brand to Twitter users. Today, she manages the accounts of the country’s largest banks and financial institutions, and helps them market their services. Catalina is also one of the leaders of Twitter’s Latinx community, helping to run its active employee group. She loves what she does: “it’s a very social job with lots of creativity, travel, and interesting people.”
